Q1: Career path
Hey Caitlin, could you walk me through your career path? Start with your experiences in college, any internships or jobs you had prior to your current role. Specifically, could you hone in on how you landed that first job?
Definitely. My career really started when I went to undergrad at the University of Southern California. I majored in public relations and minored in marketing. I really always wanted to be on that marketing PR side of things in the entertainment world, as I love storytelling.
I did a variety of different internships during my college experience, all really in public relations. These ranged from fashion for one semester to the talent side of public relations, to TV, and different in film. My first career out of college was from my last internship, where I worked in the film department.
I took on that role right after I graduated and was able to work in their film, TV, and content department, working with different clients from networks and studios. Then I decided I really wanted to go a little bit into the marketing side. So I moved over to a data analytics and marketing campaign software company. That company really focused on working with theater chains and studios, creating software to help with campaign management and create great campaigns using data-driven marketing.
Amazing. Thank you.
