What does a day in the life of your role look like?
A day in my role normally starts with a client check-in. This is to provide them with a progress update on my work.
The project plan is my responsibility to create and scope out, so I have the autonomy to determine when and where I want to focus my time. Currently, providing a day-to-day update keeps the client aware of what's happening in the project and my progress to date.
I then spend the rest of the day figuring out information to include in my recommendations. This usually involves research or talking internally to other employees, as there's a wealth of knowledge within 3M.
I use this time for informational interviews internally. Towards the end of the day, I start to build out the deck for my project.
Even at the beginning of a project, I think about how I want to present the information in my final readout for the client. The goal is for it to be visually appealing and answer the question we decided upon when the project started.
It's a combination of getting and synthesizing information for the client. That's normally what a day looks like until the end of the project.
