What does a day in the life of a channel manager and senior business development professional look like?
I start my day by doing what I call housekeeping. This is essentially making sure your affairs are in order for the day and the week. This can include going through unopened emails, Slack messages, and any outstanding tasks that will set you up for success.
I work Central and East Coast hours, so this is about 6:30 in the morning. At 8:00 AM, I meet with our marketing team for what's called an executive outreach. They do marketing on our behalf, reaching out to executives we are prospecting. We also have a Monday morning huddle with our team.
From there, I have about an hour-long call block. Again, this is for reaching out to prospects, anyone we'd like to meet with and work with. The next hour, I send out what we call "reaches," which is a platform that allows you to send gifts. This is a fun hour sending gifts to executives we've met with or would like to meet with.
After that, our company does a five-minute desk yoga session. That's kind of fun, a startup world vibe. It's a little bonding and stretching experience with the team. Then, I conducted a few interviews for our team and ended the day meeting with one of our partnerships to help with deal escalation.
To wrap up the day, I do something similar to housekeeping, just making sure your affairs are in order before the end of the day.
