Favorite Parts of Being a Chief Human Resources Officer at Cloudera
Britt, a retired SVP of HR/CHRO, most enjoys the "huge variety" inherent in a career in human resources, unlike the more focused roles in sales or marketing. The ability to implement company strategy on a "big macro company level" and then see the resulting impact is a particularly rewarding aspect of their work.

What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
The variety is great. I love the ability to touch so many different things. If you think about a single-focus role, like sales or marketing, they're very specialized.
But in HR, you never know what you're going to get. For example, with COVID, nobody had a plan for that beforehand, and it all landed with the HR team.
Another important aspect is being able to see the strategy you've developed, or the company's strategy, and implement it effectively. It's really fun to see the measurements and the movement of that work at a big, macro company level.
