How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
I would say the people that thrive in this industry are well-connected. Many people learn the importance of networking and building relationships in college; that is 100% the case.
So many people do deals with those they know or like. Also, as I mentioned earlier about how competitive things are, having friends in this industry is beneficial.
For example, I'm looking to buy buildings. If I'm friends with brokers, they might send deals to me first. That might give me a competitive edge over other people. Building a strong network of lenders, brokers, and other investors definitely helps people thrive in this industry.
