What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?

I honestly think that, and this might sound a little unexpected, studying hard and being academic set me up for success. That is absolutely true.

I learned a lot as an English major, particularly about writing and understanding the world through different literary contexts. However, the most important thing I learned was how to be social.

It was about getting to know people, making friends, and putting myself out there. Learning those life skills of self-care was crucial. I would never have been able to move to LA if I hadn't acquired those skills in college.

So, yes, focus on your academics and learn as much as you can, because that's why you're there. But don't discount having fun with friends, meeting new people, joining clubs and internships, and learning within the college community. I think that has served me really well.
