How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
I would say it's really people who are curious. Curiosity is hard to train for, but it's a skill set that I've found those that really want to understand more possess.
Whether that's how the software works or customer challenges, this is an inherent skill or quality of someone's character that leads to successful outcomes. There are other helpful things, like understanding customers, client-facing abilities, and an interest in the technology.
But in terms of core competencies, being curious, being a great listener, and being willing to truly understand what a customer is going through are some of the most beneficial things you can have.
