What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?
I think being self-motivated is a huge factor in my personal success. I often see coworkers struggling to get promoted or learn a new product.
I believe this is related to internal curiosity. Having that curiosity and then pursuing answers is a vital skillset. It's impactful not just for this role, but for many others.
This initiative and self-motivation have a significant impact on career development. It's about not waiting for managers to assign a learning plan or tell you what to do.
I think going out and figuring things out, like conducting informational interviews, is key. Asking others how they got to where they are and what it takes to succeed in this career is important.
Understanding that and then acting on it has been crucial. All of my promotions have come because I sought out more product knowledge and opportunities. I worked with new sales reps because I was curious and wanted the chance to do so.
This has truly served me well in my career.
