How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
I would say people that are go-getters and are driven to seek different avenues on how to get things done. There's not always project management; you'll learn everyone on my team does something differently.
Even though we've got certain ways that we like to do things as a team, that really gives you a chance to leave your stamp on how you do things. I would say people that typically enjoy dealing with change and being adaptable on how they can solve problems.
Problem-solving is probably a really big part of project management. Even things that are usually straightforward have some kind of thing that you're trying to figure out.
You need to figure out how you can approach it and how you can get things done more efficiently. I think just the curiosity to continue to how you approach things and have a different lens on things will then make you more efficient and make your team more efficient.
So I think there's a lot of room for people to leave their own stamp and take their own path on how they do project management in construction.
