What does a day in the life look like as an Associate Project Manager?
It depends on the day you ask me, but I'll give you a general overview. Usually, Mondays and Fridays have fewer meetings, which is nice.
In general, I would say about half of my day is spent in meetings, whether internal or external, for each of the projects. The other part is spent doing mostly internal tasks for the projects.
A big part of what I do as an associate project manager involves contracts and dealing with the legal team. This includes drafting contracts with vendors, reviewing them, and going back and forth with legal to get them routed.
I'm also responsible for tracking and updating schedules on a weekly basis. Another significant part of my role is budget tracking. We constantly update our budget trackers weekly to ensure any new items are recorded and entered into the system.
These budgets are then reviewed by the team on a biweekly basis, and there's also a monthly review. I'd say that's the general scope of my work.
