What did you do in your undergrad that set you up for success in your career?

As mentioned, my undergrad was in architecture. I think in many ways, it set me up for multiple avenues of success to where I am now.

I made a career change to the other side of things, but architecture school was where I learned all my foundation for what I've been doing, even until today. It's transferred over.

It has given me an understanding of what it takes to build a project. Obviously, there's a lot you learn once you get into the industry, but architecture provides a good foundation in design, construction, and what it takes to develop a project from concept to delivery.

That was my foundation for seven years in architecture, which was a great foundation. I still apply things I learned in architecture school to my current role, both in building projects and because architecture school was rigorous regarding the time required to get through all the work.

This inadvertently set me up to understand time management and the best way to approach things strategically. You're balancing school with delivering presentations and doing a lot more. It not only gives you the background on the industry but also teaches you what it will be like to work in the industry.
