What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
As a CEO and founder, you really wear many hats. I'm ultimately responsible for the success and performance of the business. My primary role is setting our business strategy, mission, and vision, and enabling our team to accomplish that.
No one person can do it all themselves, so I need to set our whole team up for success. Team building, recruiting, and organizational design are a big part of my role. It's key to focus on making sure everyone is working towards the same goals.
This includes working together and cross-functionally to accomplish our objectives. By nature of my role, I'm very horizontally focused. I work with all our different teams and departments, from sales to marketing, creative to finance, supply chain, and product development.
As opposed to going super deep into each one, which is the responsibility of each team, I'm at a middle level of detail. This ensures things are progressing and we're making progress towards our goals.
With my co-founder, she specializes in product development and supply chain. I go a little deeper into finance, sales, and marketing. That's how we've set things up.
