Your main responsibilities within your current role.
I'm now at PrimePay, where I've been for about seven and a half months. We are the largest privately held payroll and HR vendor in the US.
My focus is the small to mid-market space, which includes companies with one to 500 employees. I don't sell enterprise-level accounts, but if an opportunity exceeds 500 employees, I pass it to an enterprise partner, and we split the revenue.
I continue to partner with CPAs, and now also work with bankers and health and benefit brokers. My goal is to act as an extension of their businesses, enabling them to offer more products to their clients.
We provide solutions to help employers manage their employees from hiring to retirement. This includes payroll, hiring and recruiting software, compliance services, workers' compensation insurance, and retirement services, among many other products.
Building trust with partners is crucial for referrals, just as it was in my previous role. When referrals aren't consistent, I use cold calling and in-person visits to book meetings. In these meetings, I help employers identify areas for improvement in their human capital management processes and then offer products to address those gaps.
My favorite part of the job is building partnerships. While it takes time, it's a lot of fun. I enjoy taking partners out to lunch and dinner, getting to know them better.
I'm a people person, so these interactions are very rewarding. There are also creative ways to build relationships, like taking partners to Topgolf or even getting manicures together. It’s about having fun while connecting.
