What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
I play two pretty important roles. I run my own business as a business consultant and a keynote speaker.
On the business consultant side, I work with business leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs. My goal is to help them get their revenue operations, go-to-market strategy, and brand strategy in order. A lot of this involves performance coaching, ensuring that teams are running efficiently.
My days are spent talking with clients, going over data analysis, and preparing decks and presentations. I show them visually how things are progressing or help them amend creative concepts to make their business more visually appealing and their communications stronger. I'm on Zoom pretty much all day long.
On the keynote speaking side, I do both virtual and in-person keynotes. I present at conferences or team meetings on a range of topics, from effective leadership. One of my favorite topics is servant leadership, discussing how to be a leader that guides by your side rather than adopting an authoritarian style. I believe this is the most productive approach. I also speak about my career path.
Generally, my responsibilities involve educating people and helping with the task at hand, whether that's providing inspiration or motivation. On the consulting side, I delve into tactical matters, such as how meetings are run, team sizes, and departmental investments. There's a lot of variety and quite a bit of chaos.
You have to keep a lot of things organized simultaneously, but I really thrive in that kind of environment, so it's great.
