What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?

Getting to know the students as deeply as I'm able to. They're just spectacular, spectacular young people who just want to get out there and conquer the world. The fact that they have such lofty goals is truly amazing.

It's wonderful to get to know these young people and then to follow them after they leave us. Minds Matter is really changing; we're starting to work with graduates in their first year of college. Our goal is to work with them through college, which I think is really important.

I've kept up with many of my students, and it's so much fun to see their lives and what they gained from Minds Matter. They are very specific about what they got from the program. I was just at Stanford for a board meeting and met with three of my former students.

One is a senior at Stanford, one is a junior, and one is a freshman who just started. It was wonderful to talk to each of them and see how they've changed. I've kept up with them through the years, and it's amazing to see how they look at the world differently than they did in high school.

Their world has opened up and is completely different now. They are open to that change, willing to let it make them different and adjust their goals. It's just fabulous. Following up with my students after they graduate is probably one of the most fun things I do.
