Entry-Level Positions for Aspiring Mentors at Minds Matter SoCal
Beth, Co-Director of the LA Senior Program at Minds Matter SoCal, suggests that a recent college graduate's best entry point into the organization is as a mentor; this role is ideal because recent graduates "can relate so totally and fully to what the students are going through," having recently navigated similar challenges.

What entry-level positions in this field might an undergraduate college student consider?
I think the best way to enter this organization is to be a mentor. It's wonderful when we have mentors who are recent college graduates. We have a lot of those because they can relate so totally and fully to what the students are going through.
They've had the same struggles themselves in deciding where to apply to college, getting through that college application process, and most importantly, experiencing college or graduate school themselves. So that's really a wonderful way to enter Minds Matter.
