What is one lesson that has proven significant in your career?
You can never communicate too precisely. It's no matter how much you think you understand a particular issue and you think you've conveyed it to someone else, no one's ever going to understand what's in your head the way you do.
So, it really pays to be very clear in the communication. Often, putting things in writing is helpful because I have found that when things are just conversations, they tend to be heard in different ways.
Where something is in writing, the recipient can always come back and reread it and think about it again.
