What's one lesson you've learned that's proven significant in your career?

Gosh, I think there are so many. It's hard to pick just one, but I think the one lesson is being able to stay grounded.

I feel like sometimes when you get into work, you can get carried away. That's okay because, for one, I'm a workaholic, but I don't mean that in a negative way. I tend to get carried away because I just want to get things done.

I'm trying to stay afloat in a busy career so that I'm not drowning. But it's always good to step back and realize that, as a person, you want to balance.

There's always a need to take care of yourself as well. It's very important because you need to stay healthy mentally and physically. This allows you to continue pursuing the career you want.

I've seen people who loved their jobs, but they worked themselves into burnout and walked away completely. So, while it's good to meet your targets and achieve your objectives at work, always step back every now and then and ask, "How am I doing on a personal level?"

Am I also doing the other things I love to do as a person? Am I taking a little bit of time to just reset and make sure that I'm okay?

Over the years, I remember working so hard during busy times, and I would get sick every time things slowed down. You forget to eat; you're living off of adrenaline and energy drinks. You're pushing your body to do things it shouldn't.

Then, when things slow down, you're sick and spend the time recuperating. So always take time to step back and make sure you're doing the things you love to do, physically and mentally.

To achieve your career goals, you need to be healthy and well. So, whatever you need to do, go fishing or hang out with friends. Do something that you love.

Take that time every now and then to sit back and don't get too involved that you forget who you are as a person while pursuing your career objectives. I think that's probably one lesson I need to keep telling myself always, because a lot of people tend to lose track of that. And it's important.
