As a transfer student during COVID, how did that impact your career navigation?

Transferring and being in college during COVID-19 really taught me to utilize my time in person. That's when I learned the most.

As a transfer student, you only get two years at a university, while many students have four. The university experience was very important to me, and the pandemic took another year away.

So, I really only had one year on campus in person with all the resources available. During that year, I stretched myself very thin, but I don't regret it. I gained great experiences and prepared myself for life after graduation and a career in this industry.

I joined every club and had many duties and responsibilities. I also made so many friends. I learned a lot from my advisors, mentors, internships, reporting, and radio jobs. Even my regular job as a receptionist at a hair salon taught me a lot.

Time management was something I definitely learned. Making the most of your situation was the most important lesson I took away from transferring during COVID.
