What have you learned that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?

The pandemic would quite literally rock the entire ship. That's obviously something that no one could have predicted.

I wish someone had told me to be more tactical about promotions. Working with multiple teams would ensure that whenever there's an opening, I'm well prepared to switch gears and take on a new role, rather than having to learn on the job.

It would be best if we could learn from observing other people. Maintaining good relationships with peers, supervisors, and other departments is also important.

I also think it's really important to undertake professional education outside of work, like certifications. It really helps in building your career because there's only so much you can learn from a job or what the company can provide. The rest is on us.
