What A Department Secretary At Kaiser Permanente Wishes They Had Known Before Entering The Healthcare Industry

Ariel, a Kaiser Permanente Department Secretary, found the interview process accurately reflected the role's reality, stating that the interviewers were "truthful about what to expect," a positive experience compared to other job searches. The most significant unexpected aspect of the position, however, was the "all the changes that can happen" within the medical field and its associated compliance paperwork.

What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?

Honestly, this one's a tricky one. Before I went into this industry, I kind of knew exactly what I was getting myself into. I already had family members who would talk to me about Kaiser.

When you sit down at your interview, they already explain exactly what to look out for and what to expect. It was very nice to walk into a position where they were truthful about what to expect and what was going to happen.

Some jobs lie and don't tell you the full truth. But it was nice to actually go into an interview, start, and then be able to be with the company for almost two years.

I think I would just say all the changes that can happen. You never know what changes are going to happen for the medical field and compliance. Making sure everything, the paperwork, is always going to be different.

But other than that, I walked into something they already told me about.
