What skills are most important for a job like yours?
I think the most important skills for social media marketing or digital marketing in general are time management and self-discipline. This is especially true as a freelance worker. Before I went back to school, I really had to push myself to find clients and to pitch myself.
I also had to put in the work to organize all of our shoots and edit the content in a timely manner. It was important to make sure everything was organized for the client. I think a lot of it comes down to being a grownup and doing what you need to do.
Sometimes I just want to rest on the weekend, so I try to adjust things. I try to get comfortable on the couch with a blanket, or even in bed if it's one of those mornings. But I get comfortable and then I put myself to work.
