What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate college student might consider?

I think on the sales side of things, within a specific industry, there are a ton of different entry-level sales jobs. These can be found in different networks or smaller boutique networks like Backyard Ventures, where I work.

I also think the route I took, getting into tech sales or any other large corporation sales, as an entry-level business development rep or sales development rep, is a really good background. It allows you to learn a lot of the basics of sales in general.

You learn how to write effectively and communicate with people on the fly, as well as handle rejection and overcome objections. This is especially meaningful as a BDR in a tech company.

But in advertising specifically, on the agency side, there are many great entry-level jobs. These can be in operations or as a coordinator at an agency, even outside of just podcast and influencer agencies like the bigger ones.

Those are really great entry-level roles and you get to learn a ton about the industry in general, really fast. I think there are a ton of different ways to break into this industry.
