What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate or graduate student might consider?
I joined through the finance rotational program, which Microsoft calls the FRP program. This program allows us to rotate through different finance positions.
You can also join as a financial analyst or a strictly business operations analyst. These roles typically place you on a team for about two years before you're either promoted or move to another position within the company.
Additionally, there are entry-level roles for software engineers, business operations analysts, and supply chain professionals, all coming directly from undergrad. Marketing also offers roles, and I believe they have a rotational program for recent graduates.
For master's and MBA students, there are similar opportunities. You'll generally start at a higher level, but there are certainly plenty of roles available for those coming out of undergrad as well.
