Favorite Parts Of Being A CPA At Rizvi And Rizvi CPAs
Amir, a CPA at Rizvi & Rizvi CPAs, most enjoys the "entrepreneurial aspect" of their role, specifically the ability to directly impact the firm's bottom line by winning new business and seeing the results of their work firsthand, unlike prior experiences at larger firms where individual contributions felt less impactful. This allows for a more direct connection to business growth and development, making the process of "winning new business" a particularly fulfilling aspect of the career.

What do you enjoy most about your career?
I definitely like the business or entrepreneurial aspect, like owning a piano. Seeing, because when you're at a really huge firm, like I was prior to joining my family's firm, you can feel very much like a cog in an assembly line.
Even though you build a ton of hours and make the company a ton of money, because the company is so big, sometimes your impact isn't really clear. You don't know whether it lies or not.
But where I am right now, I can really feel like, "Okay, I want this new account; get this." And it impacts our bottom line. So I like knowing that part of it.
I like growing the business, like coming up with a plan to hopefully grow and expand. So that's probably my favorite part, followed by winning new business. They go hand in hand.
If I could have my way, I'd be just going on client calls all day, winning the business, and then someone else would do the work. But unfortunately, that doesn't work that way. You've also got to do the work once you're in the business. But yeah, I would say those two are my favorite things.
