What do you enjoy most about being in your role?
Being in my role, I get to see something come to fruition. I love seeing a concept of the necessary education for the year and then coming up with the best plans and ideas on how to ensure we're providing it.
I love to see an idea for a conference in your mind, and then witness it on stage a few months later. It's absolutely exhilarating to see people enjoying the content you are providing them within the community.
Of course, that's easy when you get to work day in and day out for a good purpose. I love the opportunity each day to get up and see what credit unions are doing.
I come from California, and we had large fires in Southern California this past year. Seeing the industry rally to support not only those who were victims of the fires in many ways, but also our own staff, some of whom worked within our branches and were dearly affected.
Watching our credit unions come together to support them and their needs, even the most minute. They did a drive to get gift cards to provide to someone who could then go to a clothing store and replace clothes they needed for work. Seeing people in the industry do that kind of work and support for one another is what truly fuels me every day.
