Biggest Challenges Faced By A Vice President, Education at Credit Unions
Amanda's biggest challenge in providing education is two-fold: ensuring all necessary job components are covered, and, more significantly, guaranteeing the chosen content and speakers provide the "best option that a credit union employee can have to value their time and money," acknowledging the inherent risk that attendees may not enjoy the selected content, even with careful vetting. This challenge highlights the pressure to deliver valuable, engaging educational experiences that meet the diverse needs and preferences of the credit union community Amanda serves.

Q6: Biggest challenge in this role.
What's your biggest challenge in your role when it comes to providing education to someone? There are two components that make it challenging.
One is ensuring that you're hitting all of the necessary components they need to do their job. That's number one.
But then two, think about any conference or education moment you've been in. You're choosing to attend something based on the content. The idea that my team is in charge of what content you're going to be listening to is a little bit nerve-wracking.
What if everybody in the audience hates what we chose, or the speaker we chose is really boring? But they weren't when you listened to them on TEDx. So, I'd say the biggest challenge for me is ensuring that the content we provide, and the people we bring to the table to provide it, are going to be the best option for a credit union employee. This is to value their time and money that they gave us to ensure they get the education they need.
