What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?
There's a lot of technical knowledge required to be successful in this role. We're helping sales reps and surgeons understand the clinical application of our product.
I mentioned getting your hands dirty. So there have been times where I'm in educational sessions with surgeons and I'm fully scrubbed in, holding retractors for a cadaver and passing instruments to the surgeon. This isn't what I expected when I read a job description for a marketing manager.
But I think it's great. In any role where you're managing a product, you need to be the expert on that product. So it makes sense. Definitely a lot of technical knowledge required.
