Alison, Founder and Program Director at Treats, most enjoys the entrepreneurial community, finding "a common trait of bravery and like maybe being a little bit nuts" amongst fellow founders. This shared passion, observed in both the entrepreneurial and production sides of their industry, fuels their work and provides inspiring connections beyond typical networking events.

What I enjoy most about being an entrepreneur is meeting other entrepreneurs.

I spoke to someone who asked about my website. I wasn't sure if it was good, but I learned that entrepreneurs have something that draws them to taking risks. It was an interesting moment to hear this from someone outside of my usual network.

I hadn't necessarily thought of myself as someone who would own a business and take such a leap. It feels a bit surreal, but it's interesting to meet other entrepreneurs doing similar things. They are so imaginative and share a common trait of bravery.

You all seem to be going out on faith, and perhaps a little bit "nuts." I really enjoyed getting to know other people's stories and what draws them to entrepreneurship. I also saw similarities to myself, both things I knew and things I didn't.

It's inspiring to see others so confident in their ventures. Over time, as I've been working on mine and getting good feedback, I can see that this is a good idea, and I can see that in myself too.

Meeting new people and getting connected has been valuable. I'm not a big fan of the term "networking" because it can feel inauthentic. However, I've found that connecting with people who have started their own businesses is different from typical networking events.

It feels different to be around people who are taking that leap themselves. The passion is similar to production. Being around people who are so passionate about what they do in either industry is really exciting to me.
