What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?

I would say being an active listener and asking questions instead of just making assumptions. It helped me not only in my work but also in my personal relationships.

When talking about work, there were so many situations when I thought I knew what I was doing, or I thought I knew what a client needed, or what a company needed, or what my colleagues needed. Instead of actually asking questions, I made assumptions.

It really helped me when, instead of assuming, I stopped myself and asked. I find that all the time, I learn something new. Sometimes the answers surprise me and can even be the opposite of what I thought.
