What do you enjoy most about being in the retail industry?
I really love especially a small company when you're in the retail industry. Los Angeles marketing is very involved and hand-in-hand with the product development process. It's super when that feedback loop is closed, especially in a direct-to-consumer business.
Ideally, it's closed so you're learning from customers directly about what they want from your brand. You're working directly from inception with the product team on how to deliver that, with marketing in mind from day one.
This is versus a lot of other companies where the product gets developed, and then marketing's role is just to execute and bring it to the finish line. Presenting it to customers when you're in retail, and especially direct-to-consumer retail, that's a close feedback loop.
I love just being involved in that full 360 part of the process. That's when some really cool things happen.
