What are your main responsibilities within your current role?

As program manager, I oversee a few different areas of programming at Minds Matter, Southern California. One of the large areas is student recruitment.

This involves welcoming new students into our program and onboarding them. I oversee the entire student application process, from when a student begins their application to our program. This includes recruiting and communicating with community partners about our program.

I also lead application evaluation and train volunteers in evaluating applications. This also involves conducting interviews and similar tasks. I communicate with all applicants throughout different stages of the process. So, a lot goes into student recruitment.

I also oversee alumni programming. For students who have graduated from our program, I oversee how we follow up with them after they've completed high school, with virtual college programming. This includes any other kind of touchpoint we might have with alumni.

Additionally, I support our student sessions. Our students have in-person sessions on Saturdays. I am there in-person to help our students and volunteers in any way I can.

So, I oversee and ensure that Saturday sessions are running smoothly and support volunteers as needed on Saturdays. These are my main responsibilities as program manager. A lot can come up at a small nonprofit organization, so I'm there to support in whatever way is needed.
