What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
My main responsibilities involve investing clients' money. That's how I'm primarily compensated.
More importantly, I aim to answer the question for clients: will they be okay financially? This responsibility encompasses many things.
It involves a lot of communication and truly understanding their life situation. This allows me to be a thinking partner for them.
So, when big decisions are on the horizon, they have someone to consider the financial implications with. I also believe a main responsibility is to be approachable.
This way, when difficult life moments arise, like divorce or job loss, I'm informed as soon as possible. I want clients to feel comfortable being vulnerable.
Therefore, one of my responsibilities is to be as approachable and non-judgmental as possible. My job is to be a helper. I use my knowledge of finance, tax, insurance, and estate planning.
I've seen hundreds of financial lives and get to apply that to each individual person or family.
