How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
Education is not easy. I've said that a couple of times already. But someone successful in education needs to understand the reality of it.
It's an industry where you don't have a lot of support from the government or outside partners, like you might in private industry. But what you do get is a sense of fulfillment and stability.
You also get a place to continuously innovate and see what's coming at the cutting edge. You get to see the change you're making every single day.
To be successful, you have to know those parts of the job and be able to acknowledge and internalize them. But you also have to be able to take care of yourself. This is important in any industry, but especially in education.
You have to know when to set boundaries. You need to know what fulfills you or makes you feel refreshed and recharged. Be able to make those things a habit and take care of yourself first, because you can't take care of anyone unless you are well.
