What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate college student might consider pursuing?

It is such a great place for anyone coming out of college to start. If you are interested in banking or politics, there are so many skills you can gain from a job in education that can translate to those fields later. These skills can help build your resume and prepare you for success.

It's not a secret that we in the education field need more young people. You'll get a lot of experience as an entry-level professional that you may not get in other fields. This can set you up for success.

I think private companies are now acknowledging this, which is really cool to see. They are hiring people who started off as teachers or operations coordinators. For me, I came right out of college as a public affairs major.

I immediately got a job helping run academic operations at a lower elementary school in South Brooklyn. From day one, I was super involved in every part of the process, from creating report cards and scheduling events to meetings. I also supported with tech distribution and fixing things, as well as working with kids.

There are so many different opportunities. If you see "coordinator" or "associate" in a job title, those are typically the ones I would go for.
