What does a day in the life of a Risk Consulting Senior Associate look like?
A typical day for me as a senior risk consultant usually starts around 9 am. I begin by continuing work from the previous day or by asking my managers or directors for direction on what I should focus on.
If there's a client meeting, I might start earlier, even before 8 am. Client meetings don't always begin at 9 am and can start earlier.
These client meetings typically last one to three hours, depending on the project and client expectations. However, the meetings are usually most intense during the first few weeks of a project. In the later weeks, we don't have as many meetings, perhaps only once a week or even once every two weeks.
When there isn't a client meeting, I usually spend time on analysis and discussions with associates and interns. I also attend internal meetings with my managers and directors to report project progress and milestones. We decide on the next steps for the following day.
If I encounter any issues during analysis, I usually have a brief call with my manager during the day to resolve them. The rest of my day is spent on analysis. I typically finish my workday around 6 pm each day.
