What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
My current responsibilities as a senior project manager include overseeing other project engineers within my group or those working on projects I'm managing. I ensure we have a good schedule to meet project deadlines and milestones.
It's mostly about scheduling time for the project engineers and managing the project budget. Depending on the available budget, we schedule the corresponding hours. I then ensure the engineers complete their assigned tasks.
I also handle a lot of billing for the projects I oversee. I write proposals for current or new incoming projects. If additional services are needed during a project, I write proposals for those as well and then find the staff to do the work.
Essentially, business development is also part of what I do. I get involved in finding new projects, which is essentially business development.
