What does a day in the life of a senior consultant at an education company really look like?
I think I've gotten to the point where I give myself variety in my day-to-day. This way, I don't become complacent and I keep things exciting. I live more on a week-to-week basis.
Essentially, I make time to do interviews and phone screens, which are part of my role. I have to schedule blocks where I'm doing just that. I also schedule blocks for compliance, making sure folks can legally work with us and have all the requirements.
Then, I take blocks of time to look at the requests coming in from schools. In an ideal world, we fill them as they come in. But when that's not possible, I have a plan so I can have the books filled by a certain time of day.
I have a lot of check-ins with the people I work with and manage. This is to assure that their bookings are on par and that their interviews and educator pools are in top shape. Aside from the weekly meetings we have in subteams, greater teams, and then the whole company, I have to make time for things like that.
So, it's really a variation of those items in a different order. I don't like to have them just the same. It doesn't work for educators to only do interviews in the morning; you have to be able to accommodate your schedule.
I have days where I do interviews just in the morning, days where I do them at noon, and days where I do them in the late afternoon to accommodate everyone. My days are blocks of those activities in different orders.
