What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?

In hindsight, I think I would answer that in three ways. First, don't be afraid to take risks in your career and stretch yourself to try new things. It's uncomfortable, but that's how you grow as a professional.

That's how I've grown as an entrepreneur by taking risks, and I wish someone had told me to be more comfortable with that earlier on. As I mentioned, be curious and be a continuous learner.

Always go beyond what someone's telling you to ask three or four more questions, or do your own research to understand the issue or the opportunity. And the third one is to follow your passion.

You're going to be very successful if you love what you're doing every single day. You've heard the comment about if you love what you're doing, it's not work. It's true.

I wish someone had said that to me because there were times in my career where I got a little diverted and didn't love the work I was doing, even though it was communications. This was in an industry I wasn't passionate about.

Once I got back to my passion and clients and industries that I know well, I have done nothing but grow and thrive. So, don't be afraid to risk. Take a risk, be curious, ask a lot of questions, and follow your passion.
